Merry Christmas … to Yourself!

If you’re on a beauty budget (like most of us these days are), the Holiday Season is one of the best times to stock up on your favorite (expensive) beauty needs.  This time of year I keep a close eye on websites like Sephora (which just recently sent out $15 gift cards to every member of their Beauty Insider club).  You can usually find great discount codes, free shipping, and deeply-reduced clearance items.  I like to stock up on my beauty essentials (Korres lip gloss [3 for $21 at HSN!], Philosophy Amazing Grace 3-in-1 Body/Hair Wash [$8 with gift certificate at Sephora]), and even non-essentials (like high-end eyeshadow palettes, eye primer, eye cream, etc).

One handy trick for finding deals is to do a google search for the website where you’re shopping + the word “coupon” or “code.”  I’ve saved hundreds of dollars over the years doing this.  My favorite coupon code site is retailmenot.com, which contains codes uploaded by other bargain-hunters.  The codes are vetted by people who attempt to use them, so you’ll know if it works or not.

Another handy website is ebates.com.  I’ve accumulated just over $100 in the past year through this site alone.  For instance, on the recent Sephora purchase I made, in addition to the $15 gift certificate, I earned 8% back through ebates (which will be dispersed to me as a check at the next quarterly payout date).

So, while you’re shopping for your friend and family, keep a little wiggle room for yourself.  You may just find a great buy that will save you money in the long run.  Tis the season to be merry!
